A little questionnaire on Prayer.
Here is a questionnaire I put together for my upcoming lesson on “Prayer” found in the Gospel Principles manual. Feel free to take a pop at it and tell me what you think. The Sisters have had a week to go over it ahead of time.
1) Ponder upon one of your most effective prayers.
2) Ponder upon one of your least effective prayers.
Ponder and write down your thoughts on these two prayers
1) What was your attitude and relationship with God at the time?

2) How honest was your communication with God?

3) Did you really intend to act upon God’s answer and will?

4) How consistent were your prayers at this time in your life?

Write any further thoughts that might come to your mind as you think about your experiences.

It is the hardest to accept that the answer is from God when the answer is ‘no’. But harder to accept when the granted prayer turns out to be a mistake. In retrospect, God must know what he is doing because when I have prayed and gotten what I wanted and it didn’t work out…. the result was unintended consequences which were inevitable because I didn’t have all the facts. In the long run, what was gained was not what I had prayed for; what had been received was more tailor made of an eternal nature.
