July Temple Trip
Shane and I try to bring our children to the temple when the weather is nice in Seattle so that they can be there, enjoy the grounds and feel how special a place it is to us. This past Friday was beautiful and so we headed down as a family to spend some time there. Shane took the kids on a walk around the temple and did their individual scripture reading. When I came out I read them “Little House In the Big Woods” while they colored. It was so peaceful. They were so quiet and reverent the whole time I was with them, iIt was like being really close to heaven. Afterward we ate lunch at a nearby park with the coolest little kids play area and then treated the family to ice cream. Tonight Marie asked in our family prayer that we could go to the temple more often. Sometimes you wonder if what you do makes a difference and sometimes your kids let you know. There is something about kids and temples… Emma asks us all the time if she can go, she also asks if she can go inside next time since we didnt let her go in the last time we all went.
Also when we are driving around temple valley (my new nickname for the wasatch front) when she sees one (even far off in the distance) she will yell “temple!”
